In order to boost the local economy and cultural offerings of Portimão with local talent, starting from July 4th, Thursdays will have a new business hours schedule from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, accompanied by entertainment options in three prominent locations in the city center. This initiative is spearheaded by APCS – Portimonense Association of Commerce and Services and will continue until September 5th.
Entitled “Thursdays by Moonlight,” this outdoor commerce project is supported by the Municipality of Portimão and features the participation of thirty-five establishments including shops, services, and restaurants. Its aim is to revitalize the city center and further engage people in public spaces, with lively activities on Rua Direita, Rua do Comércio, and Largo D. João II, or da Mó.

Through such projects, APCS aims to rejuvenate downtown Portimão and bolster the local economy by encouraging commerce and attracting families, while exciting younger generations, becoming a hallmark of the summer for residents and visitors alike.
The “Thursdays by Moonlight,” part of the entertainment program “It’s Summer, It’s Portimão,” kick off this Thursday, July 4th, featuring Portuguese music by Coro da Aldeia, DJ Ophelia G, and the sounds of Ben & The Pirates, blending reggae, ska, rock, and pop.
