John Aldridge Charity Golf Classic 2026 Raises Funds for Local Causes

The 2026 edition of the John Aldridge Charity Golf Classic brought together 21 teams for a two-day fundraising tournament held across Espiche Golf and Boavista Golf.

The competition opened on Friday, 11 September, at Espiche Golf with a Texas Scramble Stableford round under sunny weather conditions. Following a tight contest in which three teams shared a top score of 56 points, final positions for the opening round were determined by a back-nine countback. Day one concluded at the clubhouse terrace with a buffet and live entertainment by Jim Goldie.

On Saturday, the tournament continued at Boavista Golf with a four-ball better-ball format requiring two scores to count per team. Justin White, Conor McBride, Mark Simm, and Jim Goldie took first place overall with a score of 93 points.

The annual event raised funds for several local charitable organisations, including the Bombeiros, CASLAS, Cadela Carlota, and NECI.
