Portimão’s Largest Housing Project

On August 6th, the Portimão City Council signed the construction contract for 204 public housing units in Bairro Coca Maravilhas, representing a 27.7-million-euro investment. This project is the largest public housing undertaking in the municipality’s history and is funded through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The development will consist of eight buildings, including 204 apartments ranging from T1 to T3 and a dedicated Community Center to provide local services. Mayor Álvaro Bila described the initiative as a necessary and life-changing commitment for families currently unable to afford private market rents.
