Faro Municipality Unveils Youth Strategy and Celebrates Young Entrepreneurship
On May 30, the Municipality of Faro hosted a pivotal event focused on shaping the future of the city’s youth.
The occasion marked the public presentation of the revised Faro Municipal Youth Plan and the final round of the “Faro Next Generation” youth entrepreneurship competition.
The Faro Municipal Youth Plan is a strategic document that outlines the municipality’s priorities and guidelines for youth policies. Its recent update was carried out through a participatory approach, engaging young people, municipal staff, and various community stakeholders to ensure that the plan accurately reflects the current needs, aspirations, and challenges of Faro’s youth.
This strategic tool aims to enhance the well-being of young residents and foster their active participation in society, staying true to its core mission of providing better conditions for their holistic development.
Simultaneously, the “Faro Next Generation” program—an initiative led by Faro City Council in partnership with the DYPALL Network—was designed to equip local youth with the skills and mindset necessary for entrepreneurship and innovation.
Through a dynamic training journey that included sessions on idea generation and structuring, communication techniques and storytelling, as well as project validation, participants were encouraged to transform their concepts into actionable proposals. The program aimed to empower young people with the tools needed to create impactful solutions to community challenges and take an active role in shaping their own futures.
The event served as both the unveiling of the updated Municipal Youth Plan—a cornerstone for future local youth policy—and the final showcase of “Faro Next Generation 2025,” where participating youth teams presented their entrepreneurial projects before a panel of judges.
This joint initiative reinforced the Municipality of Faro’s commitment to building a promising future for its younger generations, through coordinated strategies and support for the development of innovative, community-driven projects.
