As of September the position is:

1st cycle, Years 1–4: smartphone use is banned in the school environment.

  • 2nd cycle, Years 5–6: banned.
  • 3rd cycle, Years 7–9: now also banned, following a new law published on 3 September 2026.
  • Secondary school, Years 10–12: there is no nationwide legal ban. Schools can establish restrictions through their own rules.
