The Civil Protection and Forest Defense Service of Lagos is investing in training the population in Basic Life Support
The Civil Protection and Forest Defense Service of the Municipality of Lagos, within the scope of its activities in Public Awareness and Information, has been developing, since January, a set of training sessions in Basic Life Support (BLS) aimed at the general population.
The main objective of these activities is to train citizens to respond quickly, effectively, and safely in cases of cardiac arrest (CA), namely through the correct activation of the emergency medical system (112), early identification of a victim in cardiac arrest, and the immediate initiation and continuation of resuscitation maneuvers until emergency teams arrive.
These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to promote safety and public health, with particular emphasis on their connection to the Municipal Automated External Defibrillation Program (PMDAE), a key project aimed at making the municipality of Lagos more prepared, resilient, and capable of responding to emergency situations.
The initiatives carried out have seen strong participation from the community and are, to date, fully booked, highlighting the high level of interest and commitment among the population regarding these matters. Nevertheless, the Municipal Civil Protection Service invites all interested individuals to register via the provided link (https://form.jotform.com/253024806169356), enabling the organization of future sessions and the expansion of training opportunities.
