With the 2026 John Aldridge Charity Golf Classic just around the corner on 11 and 12 September, excitement is building for what promises to be another fantastic event. But while the golf, laughter and good times are an important part of the occasion, the real heart of the Classic lies in what happens afterwards – when the money raised is turned into meaningful support for local people and organisations.
Following last year’s event, John Aldridge and the Tomorrow Algarve Charity Trust (TACT) team selected a number of deserving local causes to benefit from the funds raised.
Supporting those who support us
Lagos Bombeiros received a donation of €2,500, which helped provide much-needed supplies ahead of the summer months. With the ever-present threat of wildfires across the Algarve, the vital work of our firefighters becomes even more important during this time of year.

NECI, one of John’s favourite causes, received €5,000. The donation will make a valuable contribution towards the organisation’s running costs and its continued work supporting people in our community.

Following an exceptionally difficult winter, CASLAS was facing the need for essential roof repairs at its home. A donation of €2,500 went towards those repairs, helping ensure that the facility remains safe and secure for those who depend upon it.

Making a difference, one family at a time
The Classic’s support also reaches individuals and families facing extraordinary challenges. Many people will know the wonderful Vicente, whose daily life is affected by cerebral palsy. Through O Mundo Colorido do Vicente, John’s donation of €5,000 will help towards Vicente’s intensive treatment at a specialist centre in Braga – offering hope and the possibility of improved quality of life.

Then there is Alice Morgane, a truly inspirational young girl living with a rare and severe genetic neurodevelopmental disorder. After meeting Alice and her amazing mother, Salomé, John was determined to help. His donation of €2,500 will contribute towards Salomé’s goal of purchasing an adapted vehicle, which would make everyday life considerably easier for Alice and her family.

Cadela Carlota also received €2,500 to continue their amazing work caring for abandoned dogs and cats in the Lagos area.
The entire team, which includes many dedicated volunteers, works tirelessly every day to provide each animal with essential care, comfort, training, and, of course, plenty of love. The team also works incredibly hard to re-home as many rescued animals as possible, helping them find a safe and loving forever home.
The funds will go towards the day-to-day running costs of the organisation, helping them continue this vital work and make a difference in the lives of so many animals.
These stories are a powerful reminder that charity is not simply about raising money. It is about people helping people – easing a burden, providing an opportunity, making a home safer, or simply letting a family know that they are not alone.
Looking ahead to 2026
As this year’s Classic draws closer, John’s determination to raise as much money as possible for local causes remains as strong as ever.
Everyone attending the 2026 event is encouraged not only to enjoy the golf, the company and the atmosphere, but also to dig deep and help John, TACT, and the many wonderful causes that benefit from their work throughout the year.
Because behind every euro raised is a story, a family, a charity or an individual who needs a helping hand.
Here’s to another fantastic John Aldridge Charity Golf Classic – and to another year of making a real difference across our community.
As John himself says: “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” (YNWA)
