New Captain of the Port of Lagos Welcomed at Lagos Town Hall

The Mayor of Lagos, Hugo Pereira, and Vice-President Paulo Jorge Reis officially received Miguel Vieira, the new Captain of the Port and Local Commander of the Lagos Maritime Police, as he assumed office.

The reception took place during the command handover ceremony, attended by Vice-Admiral Diogo Arroteia, Director-General of the Maritime Authority, serving as an opportunity to reinforce institutional cooperation between the municipality and the National Maritime Authority.

During the event, an agreement of intent was signed to supply a vehicle for the preferential use of the local Maritime Police command. This initiative aims to enhance the mobility and operational capacity of officers across policing, surveillance, inspection, and investigation duties within their jurisdiction.

The Municipality of Lagos welcomed Commander Vieira and reiterated its commitment to deepening institutional collaboration to ensure community safety.
