LAC – Laboratório de Actividades Criativas will host two electronic music performances with a contemplative musical landscape by Inês Malheiro and Nuno Loureiro on the evening of July 20 at 10 pm, with free admission, marking the second edition of N0ite de Eletr0nica, an initiative by Museu Zer0.
Inês Malheiro creates sound narratives using her voice as the basis of her chaotic performance, which can be improvised or premeditated — recycling, broken voices, and dismembered songs. In 2022, she released Deusa Náusea, her debut album, a climax to the series of songs she began creating in 2018. Daryl Worthington, The Quietus, commented, “Her voice has a soulful, jazzy delivery, and the fact she’s not afraid to belt adds to the delirium in her vocal and effects pieces. Exaggerated breaths and whispers filter through her machines into a demonic ASMR.”
In 2020 the artist released Canal-Conduto with Gonçalo Penas and presented the performance Organismus Kathársis at Lisboa Soa. In 2022, she released Liquify, Spread and Float, an improvised live album performance. Inês also created the sound design for Práticas Laboriosas do Enxofre, an exhibition project by Coletivo Corisca in the same year. Parallel to her solo work, she composes for Sancha Castro’s performances. Along with Nuno Loureiro, she created the soundtrack for Croma, the Dream, a short film by Pedro Huet (2023).
Nuno Loureiro is a musician and producer from Porto. In 2023, he released “Lua Onus” on the Italian label Superpang for the first time without the anonymity of a pseudonym. Between 2016 and 2020, he released music under the names Mada Treku and Lorr No, among others, mainly through Favela Discos. Alongside his solo work, he is a member of the bands Fugly, Milteto, and Solar Corona/SCEM.
His career has led him to collaborate with Richie Culver, with whom he co-produced, recorded, and mixed several albums, such as Post Traumatic Fantasy, I Was Born By The Sea, and Scream If You Don’t Exist, featuring contributions from Moor Mother, Rainy Miller, and Billy Woods. He also worked on the collaborative album A Change Of Nothing with Pavel Milyakov.
