The 31st edition of the prestigious event organized by the Portuguese Federation of Motorsport and Karting and the International Federation of Historic Vehicles will be hosted for the first time in the city of Lagos on July 13th.
The Algarve Classic Cars event takes place in the Algarve region from July 12th to 14th, featuring both a soft race/touristic route and a full race/sporting route that pass through some of the region’s most emblematic locations. This year, the event includes a new feature with the presence in the city of Lagos, known for its historical significance as a center of Portuguese exploration during the Age of Discoveries, offering participants its beaches, natural beauty, historical and cultural heritage, and gastronomy.
The arrival of the stage in Lagos is scheduled for 12:00 PM on July 13th. On that day, the public can admire approximately 100 classic vehicles displayed along Avenida dos Descobrimentos (between Ponte Dona Maria and the drawbridge at Marina de Lagos).
According to Hugo Pereira, Mayor of Lagos, “this event will be a unique opportunity for residents, tourists, and visitors to appreciate the history, design, and evolution of many iconic models in the automotive industry.” He also emphasized that it will “contribute to promoting and enhancing the visibility of the Algarve region.”
