The Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve Unveils an Exciting New Wine and Tourism Calendar
If you are a lover of fine wine and authentic travel experiences, 2026 is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for our region. The Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve (CVA) has officially announced a highly dynamic and ambitious calendar of events for 2026, perfectly designed to showcase the region’s exceptional wines, passionate producers, and flourishing wine tourism sector.
Championing Algarve Wines
At the heart of this exciting programme is the tireless work of the CVA. As the official entity responsible for certifying, controlling, and promoting our local wines, the CVA ensures that products carrying the Denomination of Origin (Lagos, Portimão, Lagoa, and Tavira) and Geographical Indication (Algarve) meet the highest standards. Their core mission is not just to ensure quality but to elevate the perception of Algarve wines, drive market innovation, and support regional competitiveness. This newly announced calendar is a prime example of their dedication to positioning the Algarve as a premium enotourism destination.

Spring Showcases and Unique Experiences
The CVA’s promotional work kicks off early in the year. February highlights include the Wine & Travel Week and a prominent presence at BTL – Lisbon Travel Market, where the CVA will officially unveil the new Algarve Wine Route Passport alongside a curated tasting experience.

As spring approaches, the focus on both international and local wine tourism grows stronger. After heading to Spain for the FINE – Wine Tourism Expo, the CVA will bring 13 of the region’s top producers to the Enóphilo Wine Fest in Vilamoura on 7 March. April takes things a step further, placing enotourism firmly centre stage. Easter travellers passing through Faro Airport will be greeted with special promotional activations, while locals and visitors alike can enjoy the brand-new “Roads to Wine” hop-on hop-off experience on 25 and 26 April. This is closely followed by the 2nd Algarve Wine Tourism Fair at the Lagoa Auditorium on 27 April. The spring season will beautifully culminate on 22 May with the prestigious Algarve Wine Competition in Lagoa, an event dedicated to recognising the absolute best our regional producers have to offer.

Summer Festivals and Autumn Pairings
As the weather warms up, the CVA ensures that a premium selection of Algarve wines will be front and centre at the region’s most beloved summer gatherings. The comprehensive programme includes the Lagoa Wine Show in June, the Tavira Wine Days and Portimão Wine Tasting in July, and the iconic Sardine Festival in August. August will also see a dedicated “Algarve Wines Day” programme at FATACIL.
As the year winds down, the focus shifts to the perfect marriage of wine and gastronomy. Autumn will feature initiatives for both trade professionals and the public, including the “Entre Pratos e Vinhos” activation, the regional Algarve Wine Session on 12 October, and the Iberian Wine Tourism Conference.

Through this incredible 2026 calendar, the Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve continues to strengthen our beloved region as a standout destination where authenticity, top-tier tourism, gastronomy, and a vibrant lifestyle seamlessly converge.
Cheers to a fantastic year ahead!
