‘Black Friday’ Brings Lower Prices and Boosts Retail in Portimão’s City Centre
From 24 to 29 November, “Black Friday” returns to Portimão city centre, offering shoppers the chance to buy from local businesses at more attractive prices — an excellent opportunity to get a head start on Christmas gifts.
With participating shops clearly marked by the initiative’s poster, prices in the city centre will drop by up to 50 percent over the six-day period, as local retailers embrace this American tradition that delivers a wide range of appealing, lower-cost shopping options.
The participating establishments are offering numerous suggestions — from clothing, footwear and accessories to handicrafts and regional products — encouraging consumers to support local commerce, “where everything is on the way.”
The aim of “Black Friday” is to create opportunities and engagement ahead of the festive season, while giving new momentum to neighbourhood businesses and quality retail. The initiative also offers participating entrepreneurs a chance to promote and make the most of their products and services.
Starting this year, the “Black Friday” campaign is part of the Comércio do Centro Portimão brand, which plans various initiatives to stimulate local trade. It is organised by the Portimão Association of Trade and Services, with support from the Municipality of Portimão and the Parish of Portimão.
