Faro Municipality and Algarve School of Hospitality and Tourism Join Forces to Train School Cafeteria Staff
The Municipality of Faro, in partnership with the Algarve School of Hospitality and Tourism, launched a practical training program this past April aimed at staff working in the municipality’s school cafeterias.
This initiative was designed to enhance and develop the skills of professionals responsible for food service in educational institutions across the region.
The program, which included all schools in the municipality, brought together 40 participants from various school groups in Faro.
The training covered a range of modules focused on improving daily cafeteria practices, ensuring food safety, and optimising meal preparation and distribution processes.
The goal of this initiative was to provide participants with a valuable learning experience that contributes to improving the quality of services offered in schools and, ultimately, to the well-being of students.
The Municipality of Faro and the Algarve School of Hospitality and Tourism reaffirmed their commitment to continuous training and professional development for their teams, acknowledging the essential role played by school cafeteria staff in supporting the health and nutrition of thousands of young people.
