The Great Gatsby Charity Winter Ball 2026

All the flappers and sheiks who attended the social event of the Algarve year partied the night away, with great food, music and lots of charitable donations at the Tomorrow Great Gatsby winter ball on 22 November.

If Jay Gatsby himself were there, he’d probably have said two things: ‘What a dazzling crowd!’ …and ‘Why didn’t I think of hosting a party in the Algarve?’ Gatsby’s parties were known for being decadent, glamorous and with lots of alcohol – and judging by some of the great outfits and the numerous empty wine bottles at the Tivoli, we got the impression that the guests had fully embraced the spirit of the event. We appreciated every guest’s dedication to the theme!

We also appreciate all the work done by the Tivoli and their fantastic staff for being such wonderful hosts. Keeping to the theme of the opulence of the Jazz Age, everyone was well fed, and the drinks were flowing!

A special thanks also goes to the night’s most glamorous flappers, Vicki and Sarah, who organised this evening; Gatsby himself would be impressed by their efforts. The music came from The Swithers Band, who got everyone up foxtrotting across the dance floor.

But unlike Gatsby’s legendary soirées – where the only thing raised was eyebrows and champagne glasses – guests were there to raise something far more important. As always, during the meal, raffle tickets were on sale and everyone dug deep into their spangly bags with every single cent going directly to worthy causes. Funds for TACT (Tomorrow Algarve Charity Trust) continue to make life better for disadvantaged people and help in emergencies – right here in our community. And it was a night when everyone’s wallets were as extravagant as their outfits, with just over €3,000 raised!

Thanks to the generosity of guests at both our summer and winter balls, we can support several vital initiatives. For example, during the horrendous fires in September, we helped the Bombeiros by supplying much-needed medical supplies, including burn cream, antiseptics, bandages, painkillers, socks and energy drinks.

We also help fund the Christmas dinner that feeds families in need and people experiencing homelessness via the Mustard Seed. TACT also covers the cost of Christmas dinner for the children’s home CASLAS. And we still have money set aside to help causes when they need it most.

It was a fabulous night where everyone drank like Gatsby, danced like Daisy, and donated as if they had just inherited a Long Island mansion.

Thank you to all the guests and businesses who donated raffle prizes for their kindness and support.
