Local Algarve Trio Conquers the 24 Hours Karting of Italy

This month’s Rising Stars column celebrates three young drivers who are putting our region on the international motorsport map.

Local students Henry Kaziewicz, Freddie Frayling and Oscar Frayling recently delivered a breathtaking performance at the 9th edition of the CRG 24 Hours Karting of Italy, held over the weekend of 14 and 15 March, at the 7 Laghi circuit. The boys’ success is a point of pride for our local schools, with Henry and Freddie attending Vale Verde International School and Oscar studying at Nobel International School, Lagoa.

Representing the Titan Pro Racing team as half of a six-driver lineup, the boys faced gruelling conditions in an event recognised as one of the most anticipated and spectacular endurance races on the international calendar. Organised by the prestigious karting company CRG, the race attracts top-tier teams from around the world.

Despite being newcomers to the 7 Laghi circuit and racing together as a team for the very first time, Henry, Freddie and Oscar showed incredible resilience. They navigated treacherous conditions, with heavy rain persisting for the full 24 hours. Each driver spent more than three hours behind the wheel, displaying maturity and stamina well beyond their years.

Their determination paid off. The Titan Pro Racing team finished an outstanding 7th in the highly competitive Pro category – the top class of the event, which was ultimately won by Garage Motorsport – out of 13 seasoned pro teams. Furthermore, they secured 9th place overall out of 37 international teams and finished 3rd among all newcomer teams at the circuit.

To prepare for such high-stakes international competition, the trio hones their racing skills locally, training at Autódromo do Algarve. The event was also highly publicised, and the boys even had the chance to meet famous motorsport YouTuber Cameron Das, who is set to feature the race in an upcoming video!

The boys are now looking ahead to a seven-hour race in Lisbon on 25 April. We wish them continued success.
