A New Satellite Service Brings FBI Background Checks to US Citizens in the Algarve.

When and Where: The special session will take place on Thursday, 5 March, at the afpop offices in Portimão. (Note: An additional session is also being held in Lisbon on 2 March).
The Service: Identity Abroad will be bringing their fully FBI-certified hardware and software down from Porto to perform these essential appointments. Nathan Wang from Identity Abroad explains that the service includes capturing fingerprints using FBI-certified digital live scan equipment, expedited shipping and tracking, and handling the submission through an approved U.S. partner. Best of all, applicants typically receive their FBI background check as a PDF within just 4-5 business days from their appointment.
What About the Apostille? While Identity Abroad doesn’t directly perform the apostille process, they have streamlined the next steps. They have secured an exclusive $100 discounted rate for their customers with two trusted partners (Global Docs and Monument Visa) for a 10-business-day rush service. Once you receive your background check PDF, you simply send it to one of these partners. After the apostille is complete, the original physical documents are shipped back to Portugal, fully ready for submission to AIMA or IRN. The entire start-to-finish process takes roughly 18-20 business days.
