Opening of the 27th Exhibition of Artists from the Municipality of Vila do Bispo
The opening ceremony of the 27th Exhibition of Artists from the Municipality of Vila do Bispo took place on January 17 at the Vila do Bispo Interpretation Centre. The event was presided over by the Mayor, Paula Freitas.
The ceremony was attended by the participating artists, invited guests and local elected officials, marking another edition of this municipal initiative. The exhibition’s main aim is to recognise and promote local artistic creation, while also fostering closer ties between artists and the public.
On the occasion, the Mayor highlighted the richness and diversity of the artistic production on display, stressing that “art is a powerful form of collective expression. It reflects who we are, where we come from and how we view the world around us.” She also noted that “this exhibition brings together different sensibilities, techniques and artistic paths, celebrating creative talent and encouraging an encounter between art, territory and community.”
Multiple artistic fields and languages
This year’s edition features works by artists working across a wide range of artistic fields and languages, including Decorative Arts, Drawing, Painting, Lines and Points, Sculpture, Installation and Photography, demonstrating the vitality and diversity of artistic creation in the municipality of Vila do Bispo.
Decorative Arts
The artists participating in the Decorative Arts category are: Ana Júlia Loução, Ana Pinto, Aurélia Bráz, Emílio Ribeiro, Isabel Maria Estevão, Isaura Pinheiro, João Maia, Luciana Bráz, Maria da Glória Correia, Maria de Fátima Clímaco, Maria Fernanda Dias, Maria Inácia Rosa, Maria Joaquina Cartaxo, Maria José Beles, Maria Júlia Cintra, Maria Paula Correia, Naciolinda Nobre, Natália Pereira do Rio, Olinda da Encarnação Prata, Piedade Novais, Teresa Silvestre, Vicente da Encarnação and Zélia Morais.

The 27th Exhibition of Artists from the Municipality of Vila do Bispo thus reinforces the municipality’s commitment to cultural promotion and to recognising local artistic talent, establishing itself as a space for meeting, sharing and valuing artistic creation.
The exhibition will be open to the public from January 19 to February 27, and can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
