Faro Municipality Grants Financial Support to Animal Welfare Associations

In a continued effort to strengthen civil society and promote animal welfare, the Municipality of Faro has approved new financial support for local animal protection associations. The decision was made during a city council meeting held on June 23.

For the year 2025, the municipality will allocate a total of €14,957.61 to organizations operating in the animal welfare sector. This funding forms part of Faro’s broader strategy to encourage community engagement and reinforce public health and animal rights policies.

As part of this initiative, the municipality will grant €5,000 to the Cabana da Meia Noite Association to support animal advocacy and protection activities. Additionally, the organization will receive €2,985.25 to invest in modernization and operational independence, as well as €1,972.36 to assist with facility rental costs.

Meanwhile, the PRAVI – Project to Support Defenseless Victims will also receive a €5,000 grant to fund its animal welfare initiatives.

By prioritizing support for grassroots associations, Faro continues to recognize the vital role these organizations play in shaping social dynamics and driving community development at local, regional, and national levels. Ultimately, this policy reinforces the municipality’s commitment to animal well-being and public health advancement.
