The beaches in the municipality of Vila do Bispo are once again recognized for their environmental quality, excellent bathing water, and accessibility, renewing the Blue Flag, Gold Quality Beach, and Accessible Beach – Beach for All! awards for the 2026 season.
The flag-raising ceremony took place on July 9th. This year, beaches including Burgau, Castelejo, and Salema renewed their Blue Flag status. The Gold Quality award, granted by Quercus, was awarded to most Blue Flag beaches (except Mareta and Martinhal) and also includes Barranco, Beliche, Boca do Rio, and Furnas. Salema Beach also retained its Accessible Beach status, ensuring comfort for those with reduced mobility.
This renewal reflects Vila do Bispo’s commitment to preserving its natural heritage and providing excellence for all visitors.
