Waters of Time: Odiáxere Transforms Memories of Water into Art
During the driest period of the hydrological year, the Lagos Museum is presenting Waters of Time (Águas do Tempo) in Odiáxere, featuring an audiovisual performance and a temporary exhibition that connect local memory, territory, and community through water.
Taking place between World Rivers Day on 21 September and National Water Day on 1 October, the initiative involves several local community groups—including primary schools, childcare centres, and senior care facilities—in a collective creative process transforming personal memories and experiences into artistic expression.
An audiovisual performance combining dance, sound, imagery, and light will take place on 25 September at 9:30 PM at the Odiáxere Windmill.
In addition, a temporary exhibition will open on 1 October at 6:00 PM at the Odiáxere Parish Council building. The interactive showcase presents voices, images, and sounds from Odiáxere’s water landscape, bridging past memories with future generations. The exhibition will run from 1 to 30 October, open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
