Schools, institutions and companies showcase education and career opportunities at Portimão Arena during Start Work VIII
February 4–6
Portimão Arena will host the eighth edition of Start Work – Education, Vocational Training, Entrepreneurship and Employment Fair on February 4, 5 and 6. The event is aimed at young people and adults aged 13 and over.
Launched by the Municipality of Portimão in 2016, the initiative seeks to promote and publicize job and internship opportunities, investment support programs and measures, vocational training, general and vocational secondary education, and higher education pathways.
Over three days, the fair will feature promotional activities highlighting courses offered by participating educational institutions, alongside workshops, thematic demonstrations and short information sessions led by the companies in attendance.
The program of presentations and talks will address topics such as job-search techniques, internships, career prospects, emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence, the role of parents in decision-making processes, and access routes to higher education, among other subjects of interest.
Start Work VIII has free admission and will run from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on February 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on February 5, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on February 6. The event will also include an entertainment program featuring musical performances, rhythmic gymnastics, dance, face painting and balloon modeling, among other attractions.
Organized jointly by the Portimão City Council, the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) and the Directorate-General for School Establishments – Algarve Regional Services, the full program of the fair will soon be available at www.vivaportimao.pt.
