Sardine – The Endless Pursuit of Purse Seine Fishing
Portimão Museum inaugurated the unique exhibition “Sardine – The Endless Pursuit of Purse Seine Fishing”
The exhibition “Sardine – The Endless Pursuit of Purse Seine Fishing”, inaugurated at the Portimão Museum on October 4 at 4:00 p.m., reveals the “soul” of this activity through a documentary record captured by the lens of Hélder Luís.
With free admission, Portimão will be the only city in the Algarve to host this exhibition, which offers an intimate and profound portrait of a practice that defines Portuguese identity and that, in the past, was the driving force of the municipality’s economy.
In this context, the Gastronomic Brotherhood of the Sardine of Portimão, with the support of the Municipality of Portimão, took the opportunity to share this extensive and remarkable project with the local community and visitors to the region.
The exhibition “Sardine – The Endless Pursuit of Purse Seine Fishing”, organized by the Portimão gastronomic Brotherhood with the support of the Municipality of Portimão, can be visited until November 23, every Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., closing on Mondays and national holidays.
