Participants will explore how local developments were closely connected to national and even global events, while also examining the contributions of Lagos’ most illustrious citizens and other influential figures.

The session will provide historical context to the city’s urban landscape, highlighting stories behind street names, architectural landmarks, and the lives of key personalities. Attendees will gain insight into how Lagos has evolved over time, its role in broader historical movements, and the enduring legacy of the people who have shaped its identity. This is an opportunity not only to learn about the city’s past but also to appreciate its cultural and historical significance within Portugal and beyond.
