Hazy crazy days in the 80s emersed in endless weekend beach family gatherings of windsurfing, surf jets, polystrene surfboards and bodyboards. Teens in the hedonistic early days of Lagos nightlife.

After getting kicked off my Graphic Design Degree I joined a Water Based Leisure Studies Qualification.

Together with a school mate, also a Toby, he started The Surf Experience as a college project in 1992.

Turns out this reason to escape reality kicked off surf tourism as we know it in the Algarve -arguably Portugal.

It had to be someone, we stumbled on it. Love rather than money.

Twenty-nine years later we are super stoked to still be at the forefront and be in a position to also integrate with local communities. Watch out for our 30th Bday celebrations!!

In a parallel life pouring beer, partying and playing music in the bars from the beginning of the 90s a passion for music grew into a strong DJ hobby.

This pathway took me from shots in the Dark Bar to award winning Residencies in London and part time tour DJ for The Prodigy.

You´ll still see me about spinning under TOBYONE – or maybe you would have been to an event curated by me without realising.

My hobbies are surfing – music and a cold beer.
