Beauty therapy was my passion from a young age. I wanted to work for Clarins and live in Paris.

I qualified as a therapist in 1994, French wasn’t my strong point, but I was desperate to work in a city. With the monopoly board as my guide, I landed my first job in Mayfair. The salon was twinned with one in Beverly Hills, so we had an abundance of celebrities walk through the door. Within the company I had the opportunity to work for magazines such as Tatler and Harpers and Queen doing photo shoots. I moved on after a couple of years and got the job I’d dreamed of as a child. Working for Clarins but in London!

In 2001 my heart led me to Portugal. A place where my parents had taken me for holidays as a child. I worked at a spa on the western Algarve for many years before branching out on my own. I’m based at the The Kutting Room now and have been for the past six years.

In my job you never stop learning. I enjoy writing about beauty so I can share my knowledge with others and help them with their beauty concerns.

Working in London for some years has given me a lot of claims to fame but signing a contract where I wasn’t able to talk limits me somewhat but what I can say is that Richard Gere at one point knew I existed on this planet and I even had his phone number!
