Julian Putley was raised in England, schooled at West Buckland in Devonshire and the Torquay Institute of Technology.

For thirty years he resided in the British Virgin Islands and worked as a yacht captain. Almost a year ago he moved to Portugal with his Brazilian wife, Monique. His writing career began while sailing the world in his 37-ft yacht, Starry Night.

After numerous magazine articles his first small booklet highlighted pirate activity in the Caribbean. Then came a novel, Sunfun Calypso, an island satire, and subsequently several guide books.

The next novel, Sunfun Gospel, another Caribbean island satire, was published in 2009 and eventually transposed into a movie screenplay and optioned by Mila Media of New York (eventually declined by the author). Julian is still writing and submits various and sundry articles for Tomorrow magazine. “It’s a wonderful publication with the emphasis on ‘community.’ Writing is such a pleasure because it really makes you delve deeply into your subject matter to glean all the facts and ensure accuracy.

They say Tomorrow never comes but so far I’ve seen it every month.
