The tradition is ancient, and Lagos refuses to let it die. With the aim of instilling preschool and primary school children with a love of carnival games and reviving the oldest traditions, the parade aims to foster creativity and imagination and to encourage interaction between schools and the community to keep these joyful moments alive.
In addition to the floats, masks, humour and social criticism, the Odiáxere Carnival will feature musical entertainment, dances, food and drink, fun for the little ones (bouncy castles, carousels and face painting) and the presence of local and national artists at a party you won’t want to miss.
The programme will be announced here.
