Portimão Strengthens Commitment to Inclusion with “Portimão | Accessibility 2.0” Project

Portimão City Council, in partnership with Associação Salvador, will host the launch event of the “Portimão | Accessibility 2.0” project on 27 January.

This strategic initiative aims to tackle social exclusion faced by people with motor disabilities by improving physical accessibility and access to information across the municipality.

The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Café-Concerto of TEMPO – Portimão Municipal Theatre, and will be attended by the Mayor of Portimão, Álvaro Bila, underscoring the importance of this project in building a more inclusive and accessible territory for all.

The project seeks to create conditions for more active, autonomous and informed participation of people with motor disabilities in social, cultural and civic life, reinforcing the municipality’s role as a promoter of equal opportunities and social innovation.

This occasion marks the beginning of a process of dialogue, awareness-raising and joint action, aimed at public and private entities as well as the general public, who are invited to attend free of charge and follow this collective commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

The “Accessibility 2.0” operation is supported by Algarve 2030, Portugal 2030 and the European Union – bringing European funds closer to citizens.

Through this initiative, Portimão takes another firm step towards building a community where everyone matters.
