Municipality of Vila do Bispo Delivers Christmas Food Hampers to Vulnerable Families
During the Christmas season, the Municipality of Vila do Bispo has strengthened its support for families in the municipality facing greater economic and social vulnerability through the distribution of 85 Christmas food hampers.
This initiative, which took place in early December, highlights the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents most in need, while at the same time reinforcing the spirit of solidarity traditionally associated with this festive period. The hampers include essential food items as well as products typically linked to Christmas celebrations and were tailored to the size and composition of each family.
Moreover, the families selected to receive the hampers were previously identified by the Municipality’s Social Action services. Throughout the year, these households also benefit from regular food assistance provided through the Portuguese Food Bank Against Hunger and the People 2030 Programme – Material Deprivation 2025.
According to the local authority, this initiative reflects its continued concern with addressing the most pressing needs of its residents and promoting social inclusion within the community.
