Portuguese and Spanish Youth Mark 40 Years of EU Membership at the Triple AAA Youth Forum
Between Tavira and Ayamonte, around fifty young people from Portugal and Spain took part, from 24 to 26 October 2025, in the fourth edition of the Triple AAA Youth Forum – Algarve, Alentejo and Andalusia. The event celebrated the 40th anniversary of Portugal and Spain’s accession to the European Union and strengthened the spirit of cross-border cooperation.
The programme featured activities focused on dialogue, reflection, and youth innovation — from the European Commission’s Plaza de Europa initiative, attended by representatives from its offices in Lisbon and Madrid, to a cross-border hackathon that challenged participants to design projects with both local and European impact.
The winning project, “Borderless Blue Generation”, focused on environmental sustainability, will be developed in 2026 with the support of mentors, Bluegarve, the MUROS Project, and the regional Europe Direct Centres. The event also included cultural exchanges, music, and social moments that reinforced friendships and a shared European identity among young participants.
Triple AAA Jovem is a cooperation initiative led by the CAME – Consejo Andaluz del Movimiento Europeo, in partnership with the Europe Direct Centres of Algarve, Alentejo and Andalusia, as well as various local and regional entities. The 2025 edition was organised with the collaboration of the Eurocity of the Guadiana, the Tavira Municipal Council, the European Club of Tavira Secondary School, and the BETA ES, Equipo Europa Andalucía and É pra descomplicar projects.
