Google DevFest Lagos 2025 brings together over 250 participants for two days dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Innovation
DevFest Lagos 2025 concluded another successful edition, strengthening its position as one of the largest technology and innovation events in the Algarve. Organized by the Google Developer Group (GDG) Lagos, in partnership with the Lagos City Council, CoLagos – Municipal Coworking Space, and the Entrepreneur’s Factory, the event gathered more than 250 participants on October 17 and 18, reinforcing Lagos’s role as a hub of knowledge and technological innovation.
Promoting entrepreneurship and innovation
During the opening session, Councillor Sandra Oliveira highlighted the municipality’s efforts in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, emphasizing the progress made in recent years through key projects such as CoLagos – Municipal Coworking Space, the Lagos Entrepreneur’s Factory, the Business Support Space, the Business Hosting Areas project, and the organization of events that encourage creativity and knowledge sharing, including Marketing do Erro, TEDx Lagos, Next Generation Academy, and the Algarve Tech Hub Summit.
This municipal strategy has strengthened Lagos as a dynamic territory conducive to idea development, talent attraction, and the consolidation of an entrepreneurial and technological culture.
October 17 was dedicated to schools, with the initiative “DevFest for the Future”, which brought together 150 students from various educational institutions in the municipality. The interactive and collaborative activities provided young people with direct contact with the world of technology, sparking their interest in programming and artificial intelligence.
On October 18, the event moved to Lagos City Hall, with 120 registered participants and a diverse program under the theme “AI: Theory to Action.” The day featured national and international speakers delivering talks and workshops focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and application development. The sessions enabled the sharing of knowledge and practical experiences on applying AI in different professional and business contexts.
The event also included networking moments and concluded in a relaxed atmosphere with an after-party at Dom Henrique, bringing together participants, speakers, and members of the local tech community.
DevFest Lagos 2025 was sponsored by Google, Marina Club Lagos Resort, and DH, establishing itself as a meeting point between innovation, entrepreneurship, and the digital future.
