Phil Egginton

Having graduated in electrical engineering, I spent most of my professional career as an engineering project manager. I have worked professionally in both motorsport and the car industry. In 2005, my wife and I first fell in love with the Algarve and we brought property here the same year. I established a motorsport business at the Autódromo do Algarve when it opened in 2008. We retired to live here in 2017.

Apart from the weather, scenery, food, wine, etc what attracts me most is the incredibly friendly Portuguese people. My love of motorsport started at the age of 11 and has grown into a love of many forms of sport. My other passion is history.

What many people will not know, is that in my younger days, I spent many happy hours charging around muddy fields recreating battles of the past as a historical re-enactor. In turn, this led to me featuring in numerous books and TV history programmes!

I always enjoyed a talent for communication, which I now use in writing for Tomorrow Magazine. I also enjoy photography and cooking.
